The Municipality of Castillejos confirmed on Thursday, July 30, its fifth positive case of COVID-19. The patient, a 66-year old man, was admitted to a private hospital within Subic Bay Freeport Zone due to fatigue and loss of appetite on July 27 – a week after traveling to San Fernando, Pampanga and Guiguinto, Bulacan. The patient underwent a swab test on July 29 but voluntarily discharged himself from the hospital, signing a Home Against Medical Advice, before the result of the test could be released. On July 30, the result of the swab test came back positive. As of this posting, the patient is now at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital, and so far has not exhibited any symptoms related to the disease.
The Local Government of Castillejos has began Contact Tracing for the individuals the patient and his household members have interacted with. A lockdown is also being enforced on the vicinity of the patient’s house as officials disinfect the area.
We urge the people of Castillejos to follow Quarantine Guidelines imposed by the LGU. Always wear masks in public areas, maintain social distancing protocols in crowded areas, and only go outside when absolutely necessary.
