An assembly was held early Sunday morning, June 12, 2022, at the Castillejos Park to celebrate the 124th Philippine Independence Day. Garbed in blue, white, and red, public officials, employees, and representatives of different sectors within the municipality gathered to honor the Philippine Flag as well as the heroes that fought for Philippine independence.

Flowers were offered to the statues of National Hero Jose Rizal and former President Ramon Magsaysay, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Himno Castillejos. The morning assembly was concluded with a tree-planting activity held at the new Castillejos Cemetery.
