Hundreds gathered at the Castillejos Municipal Pavilion on Saturday, July 2, 2022, as the inauguration of the newly elected and re-elected public officials was held.
The program started with a mass at the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish led by Rev. Fr. Joel Huerto. The opening of the inaugural session followed at the Municipal Pavilion led by the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Bayan, the newly elected Vice Mayor of Castillejos, Hon. Christian Esposo. Each of the newly elected and re-elected Municipal Councilors, and Vice Mayor Esposo gave their inaugural speech thanking the people of Castillejos as well as laying out their plans for the town for this new term.

Newly elected Mayor of Castillejos, Hon. Jeffrey D. Khonghun, gave his inaugural speech afterwards focusing on plans to improve the benefits and livelihood of the marginalized sectors in Castillejos. Revitalizing the Public Market, reestablishing the Market Day, as well as building terminals per barangay for the Castillejos Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (CTODA) were also emphasized.
Before the program was formally ended, the elected public officials serenaded and danced on-stage to the delight of the spectators as free lunch packs were distributed.
Among the program’s attendees were representatives of the different sectors and agencies in Castillejos, Castillejos Municipal Hall employees, former Castillejos public officials, Provincial Board Members King Gutierrez, John-John Felarca, and Ike Delgado, First District of Zambales Congressman Jay Khonghun, and Zambales Vice Governor Jaq Khonghun.
